What to Expect

Your First Visit:

Patient Forms
Prior to your consultation, we will request that you complete our patient data forms. This paperwork provides us with important information including your health history and information on your condition.

You can complete these forms in the convenience of your own home or office to save time on your first visit.

Consultation
Next, you will have a conversation with Dr. Mondschein to discuss your condition and health history. This initial visit is designed for the Doctor to learn more about you, your health status, and expectations. We then determine how chiropractic care can meet your health goals.

Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Mondschein will perform a focused physical examination using the same techniques as your primary doctor would. He tests your flexibility, reflexes, muscle strength as well as performing other standard tests.

X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may need to send you for X-rays. X-rays help us see your bone structure as well as many other conditions to determine the best treatment plan for you, and can alert us of any serious spinal conditions.

Treatment
Dr. Mondschein does treat on the first visit when your condition will benefit from Chiropractic care, and it is safe to do so. Treatment options are discussed with the patient and we explain all procedures in advance to our patients prior to administering them.

We schedule first visit appointments in 1 hour time blocks to ensure adequate time for more complex cases. Uncomplicated cases take less time, often around 1/2 an hour.

Your Second Visit:

Report of Findings:
After we study your history and physical exam results, we’ll discuss your case in more detail in what is called the Report of Findings. Various subjects including patient education, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modification are often discussed at this point. This is usually attended to on your second visit and accomplishes several things:
  • Reduces the length of your first visit
  • Gives us time to correlate our findings
  • Avoids overloading you with too much information
  • Allows the patient time to digest the events of the first visit and think of questions for Dr. Mondschein
Treatment
Patients generally receive their full treatment plan on the second visit. Treatments may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy modalities, and/or soft tissue massage.

We schedule second visit appointments in 1/2 hour time blocks, to ensure adequate time for more complex cases, but these visits seldom take that long.

Regular Visits:

Regular visits include a brief history of your condition since your last visit to document your progress. However, they require just 5 to 10 minutes, although we schedule 15 minute blocks to ensure enough time to be thorough.

We recognize your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
